A relocated university restores hope for female students

Bickford believes the experience of the past three years, including the contingency planning, has made the university stronger and more resilient. “The extreme experience has improved us. It has invited us to improve upon our already very strong academic programmes, and has improved us as an academic community.

AUAF Students visit Qatar National Library

AUAF, in partnership with Qatar National Library, hosted a two-day required and mandatory session to help students prepare for the upcoming Career Fair in December. These sessions covered how to write a resume, cover letter, and networking skills.

All students, based in Doha, were in the attendance for the Career Fair Preparedness Session. Students had an interactive training where they took a quiz to see their major strengths, learn the importance of using LinkedIn, and basics about how to tailor their resumes.

Conference Uniting Afghan Students from Different Parts of the World

Over 250 Afghan Students from seven OSUN institutions, including AUAF participated in the Afghan Students Conference that took place on August 22nd – 23rd, and it has launched a new kind of international, transnational initiative that includes the collective skills and ambitions of multiple campuses and 100’s of Afghan students with infinite potential to generate endless opportunities for civic engagement that will make an impact for students who remain in Afghanistan and around the globe.
The main focusing areas were: 1) connecting students across the network to strengthen connections and sense of community; 2) discussing challenges and providing resources to support students across the network through creative problem solving and peer support; 3) select students to present on projects that they are organizing to provide support to students on their campuses or across the network including for students who remain in Afghanistan; 4) Coordinate cross-network activities to promote cooperation and ongoing connections.
Campuses in the network include: AUAF, AUB, AUCA, AUI, Bard College, Bard College Berlin, and CEU. In total, we had 246 participants and majority of them from AUAF. Each of our AUAF students received a certificate and the great experience of mean part of a global activity.
