CHEA - the Council for Higher Education Accreditation - A national
advocate and institutional voice for self-regulation of academic
quality through accreditation, is an association of 3,000
degree-granting colleges and universities and recognizes 60
institutional and programmatic accrediting organizations.-
CHEA is often called "the accreditor of the accreditors".
-The CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG) - of which AUAF is now a
member - is a forum for colleges, universities, accrediting and
quality assurance organizations and others worldwide to address issues
and challenges focused on quality and quality assurance in an
Gina Cinali (Institutional Research Director) will be representing
AUAF at the upcoming CHEA Annual Conference and CIQG Annual Meeting.
She has been attending CHEA conferences since 2008. CHEA and CIQG is a
very valuable network through which we can learn about the latest
trends in accreditation and access advice and mentorship from
Presidents and administrators of the various regional and programmatic
accrediting bodies. Our membership makes us even more visible and
puts AUAF and Afghanistan "on the map" in terms of Higher Education
networking and information sharing.
