AUAF IT Team Delivers an in-Depth Analysis of Afghanistan’s IT Job Market

Information Technology is emerging as one of the fastest growing business sectors in Afghanistan and AUAF is moving to meet this demand in the classroom and beyond.  On July 2, AUAF’s IT Department hosted a Virtual Workshop with Afghan universities and leading IT corporate representatives to explore the opportunities and challenges of preparing today’s students to be tomorrow’s IT professionals.  AUAF Science, Technology, and Mathematics (STM) Division organized the widely attended session to share results of recently concluded surveys to better understand what the demands of Afghanistan’s IT market are for today and the future.  AUAF presenters were joined by colleagues from the National Procurement Authority, Rana University and companies including Roshan, Netlinks, IAP, RTA, and Etisalat to share perspectives on the needs of the IT sector and how the academic community can best support those needs.  The workshop is one of an ongoing series sponsored under a program sponsored by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation to strengthen the linkage between academia and business, especially for Afghanistan’s young women.AUAF IT Team Delivers an in-Depth Analysis of Afghanistan’s IT Job Market
