AUAF Students participate in Babson Entrepreneurial Mindshift Program
Being an entrepreneur doesn’t mean having a ‘startup’ venture. Anyone can become an entrepreneur by identifying opportunities and having the ability to move from a fixed mindset towards a growth mindset. Hard work, empathy and willingness to become a lifelong learner create an entrepreneur.
15 students from AUAF (6 MBA and 9 from the BBA cohort) were fortunate to join the online learning module on Entrepreneurial Mindset on 18th and 22nd January, organized by Babson College (USA) through a grant obtained by the AUAF Business Department from a generous donor. This one-of-a-kind, interactive, live webinar was conducted by Dr. Heidi Neck, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Director of the Babson Academy for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurial Learning, and consisted of independent work, simulations and videos. Participating students recognized that the knowledge received will help them to rethink the concept of entrepreneurship from an entirely new perspective. They are now confident to try out a low-cost experiment such as simulating management of a food truck—an experience that has taught them to create prototypes before embarking on a new venture. As one MBA student commented, “Afghans are deprived of such productive insights and their minds are bound. Such programs will enable them to think what’s beyond the status quo”.
