Message to the AUAF Community from President David Sedney
Eid Mubarak! This year has been a year like no other with challenges, sacrifices, and tests that we never expected. So it is fitting that we take time to celebrate a holiday with our families and friends, even if not all together. Our AUAF community is spread across many places. Many of us are mourning family, colleagues, and friends lost to the pandemic. Many of us have suffered through illness. We offer thanks for all those who have survived. At the same time, we need to celebrate...to celebrate the accomplishments of semesters finished online despite many challenges; to celebrate the progress, slow as it is, towards peace in Afghanistan; and to pray that peace will come to all. This Eid, when we so want to be together, we are not. But, we look forward to the day when we can come together on our campus and study together, celebrate together, and yes, mourn together, as we remain committed to our dream that "Education will Prevail!"
I look forward to seeing all of you in person as soon as possible.
President David Sedney
