Establishing the ACG Scholarship Program at AUAF

Asia Consultancy Group Scholarship (ACG) is an Afghan-owned private company that provides infrastructure and engineering services across Afghanistan to the telecommunications industry. It was ACG that developed and managed the first cellular network in Afghanistan. In the last decade, as the telecommunications industry has expanded in Afghanistan so have ACG’s accomplishments and services.

The leadership of ACG understands that for Afghanistan to fully connect with the twenty-first century, the country’s human capital must develop at the same pace as its physical infrastructure – if not faster. To that end, ACG announced its support of AUAF’s crucial work by creating the ACG Scholarship Program at AUAF. In its first round, this program will provide 10 full scholarships for students to complete their undergraduate degrees at AUAF.

One of the main goals of AUAF, an Afghan institution with an American education system, is addressing Afghanistan’s dire need for human capital. AUAF applauds and welcomes an Afghan company’s investment in the education of the next generation of Afghan leaders. It is our hope that other Afghans – companies, foundations, and individuals – follow ACG’s lead and invest in a new generation of Afghans who have the talent and the desire but not the means to help put their country on the path to prosperity.
