Indonesian Ambassador Visits AUAF
On September 16th, 2015 the ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia visited the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF). The Ambassador, H.E. Anshory Tadjudin arrived at the international campus early in the afternoon where he was welcomed by the President of the university, Dr. Mark A. English and the University’s senior management.
The Ambassador walked into the International Center for Afghan Women’s Economic Development (ICAWED) for a brief tour of the facility and its programs and the Business Innovation Hub (BIH).
During the tour, Dr. English, gave a short overview of the University’s current programs, under construction projects, and future plans. Then, the Director of the ICAWED provided Mr. Ambassador with detailed information on the activities of the Center and how it supports and enables Afghan women to take active role in the economic and business sectors. Following the tour of the International Campus, he was escorted to the West Campus of the University where he delivered a presentation on Indonesia.
The presentation started with a welcome speech for the Ambassador and students in the library. The Ambassador started his presentation with history of diplomatic relationships between the two friendly countries, Afghanistan and Indonesia. He then provided general information on Indonesia in which he touched on a multitude of issues such politics, language, tourism, and food with statistics. The highlight of his presentation was his speech on tolerance, specifically religious tolerance in Indonesia. The presentation was concluded with a few short videos about Indonesia and a short Q&A session with students.
