The American University of Afghanistan Introduces Its New Logo
The American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) reopened its 2017 spring semester on March 28th with full academic operations. To kick off the new year, AUAF decided to revamp its brand identity with a new logo, to represent a fresh beginning with great ambitions for hope and education. The presentation of the clean and more colorful logo aims for a fresh and modern AUAF brand while representing the colors of the year, peace, and education. The sapphire blue means limitless, stability and intelligence (first two letters AU: American University) while the green color (last two stylized letters AF: Afghanistan) represents the color of renewal, prosperity and growth, which happens to be the “Color of 2017” internationally. The serif font of the logo is classic yet stays clean and modern, aiming for an enhanced visual identity and improved brand perception for the university’s students, staff and stakeholders. An academic seal is also developed to be used seldom on various touch points such as diplomas and official letters.
The seal is comprised of a graduation cap and a book representing education and the three associated/shared languages (Pashto, Dari, and English) followed by the year 2006, which is the establishing year of AUAF. AUAF looks forward to a year of continuous growth and innovation, filled with students who strive to excel in their studies to become the future leaders and change makers to Afghanistan and the region.
